Aspidistra eliator is commonly know as the Cast Iron Plant ( which is an apt description, as it has a cast iron constitution)
It is very low maintenance and a truly indestructable plant that will tolerate a high level of neglect! Perfect for beginners.
It is an elegant foliage plant with long spear like leaves. Much loved in Victorian times, but definitely back in vogue.
Care Tips
Light: Tolerates both dark and light positions but one of the most shade tolerant plants.
Water: Keep consistently moist during summer, reduce watering in winter.
Feed: Every few months during the growing season.
Top Tip
Perfect plant to add interest to a dark corner. Clean leaves with a damp cloth to prevent build up of dust.
